Today we had several appointments downtown. First, mason had his G-tube resized. He’s had redness around his G-tube for several months and I suspected that the size may need to be increased and in fact it did need to be increased by 2 sizes. Next, we had a pulmonology appointment and luckily that went well and Mason’s respiratory status has been great lately. Lastly, mason had a DEXA scan. A DEXA scan is kind of X-ray that measures bone density to see how weak or strong his/her bones are. Mason has had issues in the past with his Calcium being too high in his blood making it too low in his bones. This can cause his bones to weaken putting him at a higher risk for fractures. Hopefully the test results come back soon and show healthy strong bones.
